The Sun

The bright Sun blankets the fertile soil:
two little seedlings stretch
towards the new warmth.
They rely on the Sun
and each day
She keeps her promise
that She’ll return:
because She values
the honesty of Her work.

She dances through
the sweet jazz
of the clouds,
splashing Her rays across
the smiling sunflowers.
They’re big now,
yet they will always need the Sun.

So the Sun and her Sunflowers
dance on, through nature:
a family;
a timeless photograph of Love.

Family Man

He might act big for you
But behind the doors he’s kind,
A family man through and through.
He cries – yet denies.
He bleeds – yet will tease.
But behind the doors he’s kind,
A family man through and through.
If they challenged him he will not tolerate…
He is twisted like that – a true thug.
He will use his means – so it seems.
But behind the doors he’s kind,
A family man through and through.
Look in his eyes – a merciless dealer –
He’ll tear someone apart,
So don’t overstep the mark.
Yes – quite kind – to some (few, really).
But behind the doors he’s kind,
A family man through and through.

The Pawn

I’m shifted along
the blocks
and played and
even sacrificed
used to achieve
the goals
and ambitions
of the master
I have to do
as I am told
I have no
choice in
this life
I’m picked
up and moved
forward
and used as
a tool to lure
the plan
to fall into
place
I feel common
and know I
am used
I have no
ambition for
myself because
I am an
instrument of my
master’s ambition

maybe one
day I can trade
myself in to
be a King
until then I
am used
